| 1 | Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! |
| 2 | His wealth avails him not, neither what he has earned; |
| 3 | he shall roast at a flaming fire |
| 4 | and his wife, the carrier of the firewood, |
| 5 | upon her neck a rope of palm-fibre. |
